Switchboard finds it quite easy to get money for one-off projects.  In the past few years we have been funded to:

Start our History Project

Run 2 conferences on LGB issues in BME communities

Reprint our History Book

Revive QB

Stock our resource library with a variety of books on "diversity" issues

Organise several events for LGBT History Month each year

Run a conference for East Midlands LGBT helplines

Reprint our leaflets

Publicise anti-homophobic crime measures

Like many voluntary groups, it is much harder to get funding for boring day to day running costs - but without the boring day to day basics, the extra projects would not take place.  We would like to be less reliant on funding by statutory organisations . That means we must turn to you, dear reader.

Yes, by all means put us in your will

Yes, by all means send us a one-off donation

but what we really need are lots of FRONGS.

What is a FRONG? It's certainly not a frog, but it is a FRiend Of Notts Lesbian and Gay Switchboard - yes, we know it should be FRONLAGS. 

FRONGS pay Switchboard a small amount each month by standing order.  As Switchboard is a registered charity, for every £1 we get an extra 28p in reclaimed tax.
